EmilyEmily Iland, M.A., is a parent, author, advocate, researcher, and leader in the autism community.  Emily is the mother of an adult son with ASD. She is an adjunct professor in the Department of Special Education at California State University, Northridge, teaching a popular course on social-communication skills. Emily is the co-author of Autism Spectrum Disorders from A to Z, and the translator and publisher of the award-winning Spanish version Los Trastornos del Espectro de Autismo de la A a la Z. Her much-anticipated third book, Drawing a Blank: Improving Comprehension for Readers on the Autism Spectrum offers in-depth information on a key topic.

Emily is the President of the Autism Society Los Angeles and is active in the California Senate Select Committee for Autism. She is an educational consultant and has contributed to a variety of autism-related projects across the country. She speaks at conferences in Spanish and English in the US and abroad.
